The Ogun State Emergency Medical Services and Ambulance System (OGSEMSAS) a department under Ogun State Ministry of Health on 26 February 2026 held a community outreach at Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Secretariat, Sango Ota Market, Communities and Motor Park to sensitize residents on free ambulance and emergency services accessible via 0811 200 0033.
Dr. Hassan Adelakun, Director of OGSEMSAS, represented by Dr. Abiodun Olorunsogo Oyenekan, Deputy Director and Head of Operations, emphasized the importance of timely emergency response, stating that calling 0811 200 0033 could mean the difference between life and death.
The outreach aimed to educate residents on how to effectively use the emergency contact number 3, which provides free emergency transport for pregnant women, children under five, road crash victims, and other emergencies, with free medical care for the first 48 hours at state hospitals, just dial 0811 200 0033.
Dr. Oyenekan highlighted the success of OGSEMSAS, with 1,195 emergency calls received and attended to in 2025 alone, saving countless lives, all thanks to the public’s trust in the emergency response system accessible via 0811 200 0033. OGSEMSAS works closely with security agencies, including the Police, Fire Service, and Road Safety, to ensure swift response to emergencies, just call 0811 200 0033, and help will be on the way.
Mrs. Olanpeleke Olufunke, representative of National Emergency Medical Services and Ambulance System (NEMSAS), praised OGSEMSAS for its efforts in providing emergency medical services to the public, urging residents to save and share the emergency number, 0811 200 0033, with loved ones.
Nurse Florence Thompson, Head of RESMAT, announced a remarkable achievement in the programme, recording a zero maternal mortality rate, with no reported cases of maternal deaths, and only zero neonatal mortalities, thanks to the support of stakeholders and the community, and the emergency services provided by OGSEMSAS, accessible via 0811 200 0033.
The RESMAT programme has transported 1985 patients, including 349 obstetric emergencies and 709 neonatal emergencies, to BEMONC and CEMONC facilities, with the help of OGSEMSAS and the emergency number 0811 200 0033.
Mr. Olusola Femi, CDC Chairman, Orisunmibare Ilogbo, expressed excitement about the initiative, stating it would greatly benefit the community, especially pregnant women, and urged residents to take advantage of the free emergency services provided by OGSEMSAS, accessible via 0811 200 0033.
Chief Adeyinka Waheed, Ado-Odo/Ota L.G. community representative, commended the efforts of the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker, and the OGSEMSAS team for their work in making healthcare more accessible to the people, with the emergency number 0811 200 0033.
Dr. Oyenekan appreciated the leadership of Dr. Tomi Coker and Dr. Kehinde Oladehinde, Permanent Secretary of Ogun State Ministry of Health, for their support and thanked Dr. Hassan Adelakun and all OGSEMSAS staffers for their dedication to the outreach and urged residents to keep 0811 200 0033 handy for emergency situations.
