The Police Service Commission (PSC), working with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has scheduled the written examination for Police Constable applicants for April 28 to 30, 2026, in centres across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The examination covers candidates applying for both General Duty and Specialist cadres who scaled the earlier physical and credentials screening. Only those who passed that stage are eligible to sit for the test.
Qualified applicants are directed to log on to www.npfapplication.psc.gov.ng from Friday, April 24, 2026, to print their Examination Invitation Card. The card contains each candidate’s specific exam date, time, and venue.
The Commission listed four mandatory items for the examination day: a pen, the National Identification Number (NIN) slip from NIMC bearing a clear photograph, the printed Examination Invitation Card, and strict adherence to the dress code.
Candidates must appear in white shorts, white T-shirt, and white canvas. The PSC stressed that failure to comply with the dress code or produce the required documents could lead to disqualification at the exam centre.
In its press release signed by Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, Torty Njoku Kalu, the Commission reiterated that the recruitment process is completely free of charge. It cautioned applicants and the public against falling for recruitment scams.
The PSC warned that any form of job racketeering, financial inducement, or attempt to compromise the process will be met with “the full force of the law.” It urged candidates to rely only on official PSC and NPF channels for information.
The Constable recruitment is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen manpower in the Nigeria Police Force. The written test marks a critical stage before medical screening and final selection of successful candidates for training.
