The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Sector Command, has recorded a 100 percent conviction rate following a mobile court sitting that saw 25 traffic offenders prosecuted in Abeokuta.
The session, held at the RS2.2 Sector Command headquarters, was presided over by Chief Magistrate O.T. Odubanjo. It focused on enforcing traffic laws and addressing common safety violations across major roads in the state.
According to the FRSC, all 25 offenders arraigned were convicted, with no cases discharged. A total of 46 offences were recorded during the exercise, mostly involving violations such as failure to install speed limit devices, lack of valid driver’s licences, overloading, non-use of seatbelts, and issues related to vehicle licensing and number plates.
None of the offenders was sentenced to imprisonment, as all penalties were issued in the form of fines.
The Ogun State Sector Commander, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, described the outcome as a reflection of the command’s commitment to strict enforcement of traffic regulations. He noted that the mobile court remains a key strategy in reducing road crashes and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
“The zero discharge rate demonstrates the effectiveness of our enforcement operations and the judiciary’s resolve to hold traffic violators accountable,” Ogunjobi said.
He reiterated the command’s “zero tolerance” stance on traffic infractions, warning motorists to adhere strictly to road safety rules to protect lives and property.
The FRSC said it would continue to intensify enforcement and public awareness campaigns to promote safer road use across Ogun State.
