Comrade Olusola Adewusi, popularly known as Skingy, has dismissed reports linking him to a violent incident at 55 Hotel in Ibara Housing Estate, describing the claims as false and misleading.
In a statement issued on April 18, 2026, Adewusi said the widely circulated report alleging an attack on some individuals was completely untrue. He stressed that neither he nor any legislative leaders in Odeda Local Government were involved in any form of violence.
He explained that there was no attack, no threats, and no disruption as claimed in the report.
Giving his account of what happened, Adewusi said the situation involved a brief disturbance caused by Mr. Rasheed Akindele, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and acting in a disorderly manner. He added that Akindele reportedly made provocative comments and attempted to start a confrontation at the venue.
According to him, the situation was quickly brought under control when Akindele’s brother, Hon. Musiliu Akindele, intervened and escorted him out to avoid further tension.
Adewusi maintained that no member of the council or any group assaulted Akindele, adding that any injury recorded was not a result of any attack.
He described the report as a deliberate attempt to damage reputations and create unnecessary tension in the area.
The Odeda politician warned those spreading the story to stop immediately or face legal action, noting that the publication amounts to defamation under Nigerian law.
He reaffirmed his commitment to peace, unity, and responsible leadership in Odeda Local Government, while urging members of the public to disregard the false report.
