Prince Adewale M. Asade has praised the leadership and strategic coordination of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Ifo Divisional Headquarters, CSP Kamorudeen Olabisi, following the recent success recorded under Operation “No Traffic Gridlock” in Ifo, Ogun State.
Asade made the commendation in a statement made available to journalists in Abeokuta, the state capital, where he highlighted the impact of the initiative in restoring order along major roads within the axis.
He described the success of the operation as a clear testament to purposeful leadership, operational efficiency, and unwavering commitment to public order by the Ifo DPO.
According to him, the exercise led to the arrest of offenders and the removal of obstructions along the busy Abeokuta–Lagos Expressway, thereby improving traffic flow and enhancing public safety.
“The recent success recorded under Operation ‘No Traffic Gridlock’ reflects not only operational efficiency but also a deep understanding of the need to maintain sanity, safety, and the free flow of traffic within our communities,” Asade stated.
He further referenced earlier remarks by the Ogun State Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Ola Oresanya, who reiterated the government’s commitment to enforcing environmental regulations across key areas, including Tollgate, Sango-Ota, and Joju in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area.
Oresanya had noted that the enforcement drive, which targets environmental infractions such as roadside trading and indiscriminate parking, would continue unabated as part of efforts to safeguard lives and ensure orderliness.
“What we are doing is to save lives. We have engaged traders, transporters, and other stakeholders across the affected areas, and the enforcement will continue,” the commissioner had stated.
Commending CSP Olabisi’s leadership, Asade emphasized that effective policing goes beyond enforcement, noting that it also involves restoring order, protecting livelihoods, and creating an enabling environment for residents to carry out their daily activities without disruption.
“This achievement is highly commendable and worthy of emulation. It reinforces public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force and underscores the importance of responsive and people-oriented policing,” he added.
He lauded the DPO and his team for their professionalism, dedication, and resilience, stressing that their efforts contribute significantly to the peace, safety, and overall development of Ogun State.
