The Ogun State Medical Services and Ambulance System (OGSEMSAS), a department under the Ogun State Ministry of Health, has responded to a gas exposure incident at Our Lady Secondary School, Ijebu-Ode, rescuing 47 female students and one teacher who were experiencing respiratory distress, thanks to the prompt call to 0811 200 0033.
The incident occurred at approximately 10-11am, when a harmful gas of unknown origin was released within the school premises, affecting several students and staff members.

The teams found multiple students in respiratory distress, presenting with symptoms such as choking, gasping for air, and collapse.

The agency is also working with the state government to ensure that all schools have adequate emergency response plans in place.
