… says he is well equipped to govern Ogun
A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressive Congress(APC) in Ogun State, Abayomi Hunye, has disclosed that he would prioritize youth employment if given the chance to govern the state come 2027 elections
Hunye, who is the Managing Director of Ogun State Waste Management Authority(OGWAMA) stated this yesterday in Abeokuta, the state capital.
He said that to achieve this, he would create industrial centres in the three senatorial districts of the state as parts of efforts to address that challenges of employment amongst youth and other job seeker in the state.
The Former Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperatives in the state, said further that the youth would have the opportunity to learn various skills needed to earn a living for themselves at the centres and also get paid for the services they offered at the centers just like China.
He, however, divulged that other plan he had to address the problem of employment among the youth was to catch them young by engaging students in secondary schools on vocational training and skills to make them self reliant.
He said ” I am looking at the areas of unemployment. Im looking at the areas of engaging the youth actively. I want to have a kind of industrial centers to to address the issue of employment which has a negative effects in the lives of the youth and environment.”
“To address this is want to start from a very tender age, from secondary schools to curb the issue of criminality once they are engaged in skills, they won’t get into vices. We want to have industrial hubs in all the Senatorial Districts that you can wake on the morning go there get a skills and you get paid later.
“Just as it is done in Chaina, most of us go to China to visit the country and we have not copy from the country. No young man in China will not have a place to go when he wakes up in the morning. So once our young ones are positively engaged things will get better.” he added.
Hunye, however, stated that if any contestants should be considered to govern the state after Governor Dapo Abiodun, he should be the one following his antecedents in serving ministry and different agencies in the state over the years.
“If anybody is to be considered looking at the areas I have the opportunity to have work in this state I think I should be considered. Having considered the number of years I have put in Ogun State working form one agency to another.”
“There are materials in Ogun State. When you are talking about capacity and ability to govern Ogun State I think we have a better hands like me and Ogun State should be expecting a total transformation a new dawn. I want to commend all other past governors, they have contributed their quoters.” he stressed.
