Troops of 35 Artillery Brigade have intercepted 296 large wraps of substances suspected to be Cannabis Sativa along the Abeokuta–Igboora Road in Ogun State.
The interception followed a credible intelligence tip-off on the planned movement of the illicit drugs.
Acting swiftly at about 4:30 a.m. on March 1, 2026, the troops moved to the location where they stopped an unregistered motorcycle conveying the substances concealed in three large sacks. On sighting the troops, the suspect abandoned the motorcycle and fled into a nearby bush under the cover of darkness.

The 35 Artillery Brigade reaffirmed its resolve to make Ogun State unsafe for drug traffickers and other criminal elements, urging them to desist from illegal activities and embrace legitimate means of livelihood or face the full weight of the law.
The Brigade also reassured residents of Ogun State of the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property, sustained security presence across the state, and preventing criminals from operating with impunity.
