The Ogun State governor Prince dapo Abiodun has restated that the state government would continue to promote peaceful co-existence in the state through mutual respect of all religions in line with unity in diversity
Governor Abiodun made the promise this tuesday at the installation of awujale and paramount ruler of Ijebuland, oba sikiru kayode adetona as the Amir-ul-mulik-il-Muslimin of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta states by the League of Imams and Alfas Yorubaland, Edo and Delta states held at the awujale pavilion, ijebu-ode
The governor explained that the role of religious leaders in fostering harmonious relationships in the state can not be over-emphasised, noting that the state has been enjoying relative peace due to the symbiotic relationship among all the religious faithful across the state
He charged the religious leaders to continue supporting the government by preaching peace and harmony across the state
Congratulating the monarch on his new title, Mr governor who described him as a devoted Muslim and a man of faith said his commitment to Islamic religion earned him the title which according to him is the first in the history of Yorubaland and southwest

He noted that the recognition was a testimony to his sterling leadership and his zero tolerance for corruption since ascending the throne in Ijebuland
The first citizen of the gateway state urged the monarch to use his new title of Amir to foster cordial relationship in Ijebuland and also promote unity among the various Muslim communities in the state
