The Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA), Ogun 1 Area Command Chapter, has extended a compassionate gesture to healthcare institutions in Idiroko, donating essential items to the General Hospital and the Customs Medical Center.
The initiative, which formed part of the association’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, was led by the Chairperson, Mrs. Fausat Otunla, on Tuesday.
At the General Hospital, Idiroko, the COWA team was warmly received by the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Kilanko Margaret, alongside senior staff.
The association presented patients and pregnant women at the antenatal clinic with mosquito nets and also donated 50 bed sheets to the hospital.
The Chief Medical Director, Dr. Kilanko Margaret expressed appreciation on behalf of the hospital management, describing the donations as timely support that would significantly improve patient welfare.
She assured that the hospital would continue to collaborate with the association, including extending medical outreach to COWA members and their families.
Also speaking, a representative of the pregnant women, Mrs. Sodiq Ola, thanked COWA for the thoughtful gifts and offered prayers for the association’s continued success.
The CSR drive also extended to the Customs Medical Center, Idiroko, where mosquito nets and customized bed sheets were presented to the facility.
The items were received by Superintendent of Customs (SC) Dr. Abdulmalik Zakariyyah on behalf of the medical staff, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the group.
Speaking during the outreach, the chairperson, Mrs. Fausat Otunla explained that the donations reflected COWA’s unwavering commitment to community development and family well-being.
“This initiative once again underscores the compassionate vision of COWA and our contribution to the health and welfare of communities within and around Idiroko,” she said.
The exercise reinforces COWA’s mission of supporting health institutions and improving the living standards of families in border communities.
