The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the forthcoming Remo Federal Constituency by-election, Bolarinwa Oluwole, has accused the Ogun State Government of preventing him from putting up his campaign posters.
Oluwole made the allegation on Sunday while speaking with journalists at the grand finale of the Ogun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) monthly programme, Meet the Press, in Abeokuta.
Despite the alleged restriction, the PDP candidate expressed confidence that the move would not hinder his chances in the election scheduled for Saturday, August 16.
He claimed that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was intimidated by his candidacy, saying:
“I am the candidate to beat. They are already running around. The governor has now relocated to Iperu where he never stayed before, calling people here and there because of a small boy like me. I’m a 48-year-old small boy — I’m his boy, a small boy.”
Oluwole further asserted that Remo remained a PDP stronghold and predicted victory for his party.
“Ladi Adebutu is the main man in Remo Federal Constituency politics, and he is fully behind me, taking me everywhere. His goodwill, my own, and that of my father are solid. I will sponsor bills on security, education, and health. I am ready,” he said.
