The Ewekoro Pacesetters Lions Club has commissioned a signage project and held a fundraising ceremony marking a significant milestone in the club’s history. According to Lion Ogunnaike Abiodun Ifeoluwa, NLCF, President of the Ewekoro Pacesetters Lions Club, the project is the first of its kind in District 404B3, Nigeria, to be commissioned by a president during their installation.
In his address, Lion Ogunnaike outlined his goals for the club, including increasing membership and community service activities. He emphasized the club’s commitment to engaging with community leaders to support the needy, less privileged, and the community at large. The signage project, donated by the Ewekoro Pacesetters Lions Club, provides direction to travelers at Lafarge Junction, pointing the way to Abeokuta, Lagos, Otta, and other destinations.
Babatunde Gabriel, the newly installed President of the Ifo Pacesetters Lions Club, highlighted the humanitarian focus of Lions Club International. He cited examples of the organization’s response to natural disasters, such as the flood in Maduguri, and its ongoing efforts to provide free eye glasses and hunger relief to those in need. Gabriel emphasized that Lions Club will continue to serve the needy and less privileged.
The guest speaker, Engineer Adedotun Oluseyi, congratulated the newly installed presidents and encouraged wealthy individuals in Nigeria and worldwide to support Lions Club’s humanitarian efforts. He emphasized that serving humanity is the greatest reward and that supporting Lions Club’s mission can bring joy and fulfillment.
District Governor,District 404B3 Nigeria, Lion Dr. Ibrahim Jide Bello, commended the Ewekoro Pacesetters Lions Club for its initiative and encouraged them to continue providing safety and support to the community. He noted that Lions Club’s mission includes providing safety for road users, and the signage project is a significant step towards achieving this goal.
