The Rivers State Police Command has successfully neutralized Nkem ThankGod, a notorious kidnap kingpin and cult leader, responsible for multiple heinous crimes in Ahoada East and Ahoada West Local Government Areas ¹. ThankGod, also known as “2man,” was a 42-year-old native of Ogbologbolo Community, Ahoada West Local Government Area.
Commissioner of Police, Mustapha Mohammed, disclosed this information during a news briefing, where he paraded the lifeless body of the miscreant at the command’s headquarters in Port Harcourt ¹. Mohammed noted that ThankGod’s crimes ranged from murder, kidnapping, and attacking oil pipelines and government facilities.
ThankGod had been on the police’s wanted list since 2021 for sundry crimes, including the murder of a man and his wife ¹. He had been evading arrest, constantly moving from one location to another.

Furthermore, ThankGod was involved in kidnapping and carjacking a red Toyota Camry from Dare Shola in October 2024 ¹. He orchestrated several kidnappings, extorting ransoms before killing victims.
The cult leader frequently vandalized oil pipelines and government installations in Ahoada West ¹. His reign of terror ended during an intelligence-led operation while attempting another kidnapping.
ThankGod’s gang members managed to escape with injuries, and efforts are underway to apprehend them ¹. The police recovered two AK-47 rifles, five magazines, and 22 rounds of live ammunition from the scene.
