A deadly rampage occurred in Abeokuta’s Ibara GRA area early Monday, claiming two lives and injuring two others. The victims, Adewale Olanifemi (“Ola Poly”) and a female passenger, were shot in a Mercedes Benz GLE 350.
The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. in the Diamond Dumplings parking lot. Three armed men in an unregistered Toyota Hilux demanded the car keys, opening fire when refused.
Ola Poly, a former DS Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic student, and Shobanke Oluwatimileyin were fatally shot. Two others were injured.
This tragedy echoes a similar incident last month, where APC councilorship candidate Adeyinka Adeleke was killed in the Jide Jones area.
Omolola Odutola, Ogun State Police spokesperson, confirmed the incident. Preliminary investigations focus on potential cult involvement.
Police are examining evidence and interviewing witnesses. The motive behind the attack remains unclear.
