Ogun State Police Arrest Husband for Setting Wife Ablaze
A horrific incident occurred in the Ota area of Ogun State, where a husband allegedly set his wife, Kikelomo, ablaze at their residence on Fagbuyi Street, Ilogbo, around 8:30 p.m. on Friday ¹ ². The couple had been engaged in a domestic dispute, which escalated tragically.
According to eyewitnesses, the husband poured petrol on his wife and ignited it with a match. Witnesses rushed Kikelomo to the hospital, while a neighbor alerted her family, who then contacted the police ¹ ².
Omolola Odutola, spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, confirmed the incident and stated that the husband has been detained ¹ ². “Our detectives promptly took him into custody following the report,” Odutola said.
