Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has confidently declared that his administration’s impressive performance over the past five years has rendered opposition parties ineffective and invisible in the upcoming local government elections ¹. Abiodun highlighted his administration’s achievements, stating that they have “assiduously and consistently made remarkable impacts in the life of our people, and this is indeed our selling point” ¹. He urged APC members to demonstrate greater commitment and unity to sustain past accomplishments and ensure a resounding victory in the upcoming polls.
The governor’s assertion comes after his re-election in the 2023 Ogun State gubernatorial election, where he defeated Ladi Adebutu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Biyi Otegbeye of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ¹. Abiodun’s administration has focused on five key development pillars: infrastructure, social welfare, education, youth empowerment, and agriculture.
Abiodun’s leadership has earned him recognition, including awards for Best State Governor with Improved Security Infrastructure and Best Governor in Agriculture ¹. His commitment to education has also led to initiatives such as establishing a scholarship scheme for 550 students.
