President Bola Tinubu returned to Nigeria on Saturday, October 19, 2024, after a 17-day vacation in the United Kingdom.
Tinubu arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja in the evening, marking the end of his two-week working leave.
“The eagle has landed,” presidential aide Dada Olusegun wrote on his X account on Saturday. “Welcome home, Mr President.”
President Tinubu was welcomed by a team of government officials, including the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje; Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State; his Chief of State, Femi Gbajabiamila; and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, among others.
The two-week working leave was part of his annual leave.

In a statement by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, had noted that the vacation was part of the President’s annual leave.
With his return, President Tinubu is expected to resume his presidential duties, tackling various national issues.
The president’s vacation had sparked mixed reactions from Nigerians, with some criticizing the timing while others saw it as a well-deserved break.
