The Adamawa State House of Assembly has called for an urgent and lasting solution to the Boko Haram insurgency following the killing of 11 people in Dzangola community, Gombi Local Government Area.
The latest attack occurred on Sunday, September 6, 2026, when suspected Boko Haram insurgents invaded the community, killing 11 residents.
Reacting to the incident on Monday evening, the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Mathiya Wesley, described the attack as another painful incident too many for communities affected by the insurgency.
Wesley, who hails from Hong Local Government Area, one of the areas that has suffered repeated Boko Haram attacks in recent months, appealed to relevant authorities to intensify efforts towards ending the violence.
He said residents of affected communities deserved to live without the constant fear of attacks, stressing that the people of Dzangola did not deserve the “wickedness” inflicted on them.
Speaking on behalf of the state lawmakers, the Speaker expressed solidarity with the victims and residents of the affected community.
“We are with you in this troubling time,” Wesley told the people.
The latest attack has renewed concerns over the security situation in parts of Adamawa State, particularly communities around Gombi and Hong local government areas, which have continued to face threats from insurgents.
