Residents of Unguwan Abuja in Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa State have been thrown into shock after the body of a 38-year-old woman, Susuti Denhan, was reportedly discovered without her head.
The incident occurred on Friday, August 21, with the woman’s body reportedly found on a mountain in the community on Saturday after her family launched a search for her.
According to reports, Denhan, who was said to be deaf, left her home on Friday but failed to return, prompting relatives and members of the community to begin searching for her whereabouts.
The search reportedly ended with the discovery of her body, but her head was said to be missing.
The incident has heightened concerns in Girei, where another suspected ritual killing was reportedly recorded earlier in the week.
The latest incident has consequently raised fears among residents over the safety of people in the community and the activities of suspected criminals.
As of the time of filing this report on Saturday evening, the Adamawa State Police Command had yet to officially comment on the incident or confirm whether any arrest had been made.
The circumstances surrounding the woman’s death and the whereabouts of her missing head remained unclear.
