Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has filed a ₦15 billion defamation lawsuit against Adeniyi Adeyemi, who is described as the purported Director General of the Presidential Foreign Promotion Council (PFIPC).
The suit, filed before a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), seeks ₦10 billion in general damages and an additional ₦5 billion in aggravated damages over alleged defamatory statements.
Gbajabiamila is also asking the court to award ₦200 million as the cost of the legal action and to compel Adeyemi to publish a full retraction and apology in five national newspapers.
The case is expected to determine whether the alleged statements were defamatory and whether the reliefs sought by the Chief of Staff should be granted.
