Former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, has defended the legacy of late former President Muhammadu Buhari, insisting that the ex-leader left behind a flourishing nation with a stronger economy and improved education sector.
Speaking during an interview on Arise Television, Sirika dismissed claims that Buhari’s actions plunged the country into hardship, maintaining that Nigeria was in a much better state under the former president’s administration.
“The truth of the matter is that Buhari did extremely well on the economy. I’m not an economist, but I live in this country and I know the country was in a good state,” he said.
According to him, “The country was in a much better state at the time, both in terms of the economy and the education sector. I believe President Buhari left behind a country that was flourishing.”
Sirika, however, declined to comment extensively on the policies of Buhari and President Bola Tinubu, saying it would be unfair for him to criticise decisions made by either administration.
