Dangote Petroleum Refinery has commenced free delivery of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, to six locations across Nigeria, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, while retaining its ex-depot price of N1,075 per litre.
The company announced the initiative in a notice posted on its official X handle on Wednesday.
According to the refinery, the free delivery service covers the FCT, Abuja, and five states—Lagos, Ogun, Rivers, Kaduna and Delta.
It stated that the offer is available to customers purchasing a minimum of 250,000 litres of petrol.
The latest development comes amid ongoing efforts by the refinery to stabilise fuel prices and improve distribution across the country.
The initiative also follows a recent meeting between Dangote Refinery and stakeholders in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector on the need for cost-reflective pricing of petrol.
The engagement ended with industry stakeholders expressing support for further reductions in fuel prices.
The refinery had recently announced its fourth reduction in the gantry price of petrol, lowering it to N1,075 per litre.
Meanwhile, President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Abubakar Maigandi, said the retail price of petrol has dropped by N125 per litre over the past three weeks.
According to him, pump prices currently range between N1,155 and N1,299 per litre, depending on location and the marketer involved.
Industry observers say the free delivery initiative and recent price reductions by Dangote Refinery could further ease fuel distribution costs and potentially lead to lower pump prices for consumers across the country.
