Former Governor of Kwara State, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has pledged financial support to Blessing Oluwafikayo Adisa, a first-class graduate of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), to enable her relocate to Italy for her postgraduate studies.
Adisa, who graduated with a First Class in Mathematics with a CGPA of 4.76/5.0, recently announced that she had secured a fully funded master’s scholarship in Mathematics at the University of Calabria, Italy.
Despite the scholarship covering her academic expenses, she appealed for financial assistance to offset the cost of relocating to Italy.
In a post on X, Adisa shared her achievement and sought public support to help realise her academic dream.
“Help Make My Scholarship Dream Come True. I’m Adisa Blessing Oluwafikayo, a First-Class Mathematics graduate (CGPA: 4.76/5.0) from UNILORIN. I’m happy to have been awarded a fully funded master’s scholarship in Mathematics at the University of Calabria, Italy,” she wrote.
Responding to her appeal, Saraki assured the graduate that he would cover the remaining expenses required for her relocation.
“No young person who has worked this hard should have such an opportunity limited by the cost of getting there. It would be my privilege to support your journey by covering the remaining cost of your relocation,” the former Senate President said.
Saraki’s intervention has been widely applauded, with many describing it as a timely gesture that will enable the young scholar to pursue her postgraduate education without financial obstacles.
