The Ishara Growth and Prosperity Foundation, a non-profit organization, has donated a brand-new Toyota Hilux patrol vehicle to the police to boost security operations in, Ishara-Remo, Remo North Local Government Area.
The vehicle, presented to the Ogun State Police Command ,in Ishara on Thursday, is designed to enhance patrol capabilities and curb criminal activities, especially within the area’s forested communities.
The initiative comes weeks after the launch of Operation Kosaye, a security initiative introduced by the Inspector General of Police to tackle kidnapping, banditry and other violent crimes across Ogun State.
The Ishara Growth and Prosperity Foundation was established to drive socio-economic development in Ishara community.
Speaking during the presentations Chairman of the Foundation, Taiwo Bakare, said that the foundation’s interventions were driven by public the urgent need to deploy security measures in order to advert invasion of terrorist in the area.
Bakare noted that since the coronation of the Odemo of Ishara, the traditional ruler had prioritised security by mobilising local vigilantes and hunters to comb forests for criminal elements with the approval of the police, facilitating the deployment of military personnel to strategic locations, and supporting the construction of a permanent Area Command office.
He also urged Nigerians to actively support security agencies in tackling crime.
His words “There can be no socio-economic development without security. That is why we decided to collaborate with the police by donating this brand-new Toyota Hilux. This is just the beginning because we have other plans that will benefit the people of Ishara.
“What we are doing is for the masses and not for individuals. We are doing it selflessly and we are not expecting any reward or appreciation. If you see something, say something. More importantly, do whatever is lawful and necessary to help stop criminality.
Also speaking, Chairman of the Ishara Development Council, Sesan Lawal, described the donation as a significant milestone in the community’s efforts to improve security.
According to him, sustainable development can only be achieved where lives and property are adequately protected.
Lawal disclosed that the foundation considered different opinions before approving the donation but eventually resolved that investing in security was in the overall interest of the community.

“Ishara is a forested community and crimes now thrive in forest areas. The establishment of the Area Command has brought security closer to the people and improved the response to security challenges.”
Receiving the vehicle earlier, the Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, commended the foundation for supporting the police and assured residents that the patrol vehicle would be effectively deployed and properly maintained.
Ojajuni reiterated the command’s commitment to sustaining the fight against insecurity across the state through effective policing and collaboration with communities.
The donation ceremony was attended by community leaders, security stakeholders and residents of Ishara, who described the intervention as a timely contribution to ongoing efforts to keep the community safe.
