As part of efforts to strengthen grassroots support for the governorship ambition of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Barrister Titi Fagbote, on Wednesday intensified her mobilization drive across Ayetoro in Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Fagbote, fondly called Ayoka Omo Ayetoro, engaged critical stakeholders, community leaders and various associations on the importance of voter registration and active political participation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The grassroots sensitization exercise saw her meeting separately with members and executives of the Fish Sellers Association, the Hairdressers Association, and the Isokan South Community Development Council (CDC), an umbrella body comprising 33 Community Development Associations (CDAs) across Ayetoro.
Addressing participants during the engagements, Fagbote emphasized that obtaining the Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) remains the first and most important step towards meaningful participation in the democratic process.
She urged residents to identify friends, relatives and neighbours who were yet to register as voters and encourage them to obtain their PVCs before the next election cycle.
According to her, widespread voter registration would not only strengthen democracy but also ensure that the people of Ogun West play a decisive role in determining the political future of the state.
The APC stalwart appealed to the people to support all candidates of the ruling party in the 2027 elections, beginning with the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
She specifically called for massive support for Senator Adeola’s governorship bid, describing him as a leader whose developmental footprint across Ogun West remains unmatched.
“The time has come for us to repay good for good. Senator Yayi is our son and he has demonstrated uncommon commitment to the development of Ogun West. We must show our appreciation through overwhelming support and votes,” she said.
Fagbote further described Senator Adeola as a responsive and people-oriented leader whose representation at the National Assembly has translated into tangible dividends of democracy for the people.
She maintained that Ogun West must maximize its voting strength in the coming elections to ensure the zone’s interests are adequately represented.
In addition to canvassing support for Senator Adeola, she urged residents to vote for Hon. Olusola Ojugbele for Ogun West Senatorial District, Hon. Gboyega Nasir Isiaka for Yewa North/Imeko-Afon Federal Constituency, and Hon. Awayeti Sarafadeen for Isokan State Constituency I.
According to her, electing APC candidates from the presidency to the state legislature would guarantee greater access to development projects and governance benefits for the people of Yewa and Ogun State at large.
The meetings witnessed enthusiastic responses from participants, many of whom openly pledged support for the APC and its candidates.
Members of the Fish Sellers Association unanimously declared their readiness to support Senator Adeola, describing him as a dependable leader who has consistently fulfilled his promises to the people.
Similarly, speaking on behalf of the Hairdressers Association, Mrs. Rafiu Fausat offered prayers for the success of the APC governorship aspirant, expressing confidence that he would emerge victorious in the 2027 gubernatorial election.
The Isokan South CDC also pledged its support for the APC, commending Senator Adeola’s leadership style and describing him as a grassroots politician with a proven record of service and commitment to the welfare of the people.
Speaking after the series of engagements, Fagbote expressed satisfaction with the turnout and positive reception received from the various groups.
She noted that the overwhelming response had further strengthened her resolve to continue mobilizing support for the APC across communities in Ogun State.
The legal practitioner and political mobilizer reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring victory for the APC at all levels, particularly in the quest to elect Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola as the next Governor of Ogun State.
