Dr. Mrs. Oluwabunmi Fatungase has been reappointed as the Chief Medical Director of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, for a fresh four-year tenure. The reappointment was approved by Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON.
The approval followed the recommendation of the OOUTH Board of Management under the leadership of Dr. Chief Kunle Hassan. The hospital said the decision affirms Fatungase’s visionary leadership, humility, dedication, and transformative impact on the institution.
During her first tenure, OOUTH witnessed remarkable growth and unprecedented progress across several areas. The hospital recorded significant improvements in infrastructure development, acquisition of modern medical equipment, and expansion of manpower training.
Clinical services also saw major upgrades under her administration. The hospital repositioned itself as a leading center of excellence, innovation, and quality patient care, with expanded access to specialized treatments.
Fatungase’s leadership focused on strengthening healthcare delivery and enhancing medical education. Her administration prioritized investment in technology, staff capacity building, and patient-centered services.
The hospital management said the reappointment reflects confidence in her ability to consolidate ongoing reforms. It noted that OOUTH has gained recognition for improved service delivery and competitiveness in healthcare delivery.
As she begins the new chapter of service, OOUTH said it looks forward to continued support from the Ogun State Government and the Board. The hospital also called for collaboration from alumni, staff, partners, stakeholders, and the wider community.
