The Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Wednesday decorated three senior officers newly elevated to the rank of Deputy Corps Commander during a ceremony held in Abeokuta.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the command, Superintendent Route Commander Odunsi Afolabi.
Sector Commander Akinwunmi Fasakin, who officiated the decoration, expressed gratitude to the Corps Marshal and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation for approving the promotions. He described the elevation as an affirmation of the Federal Government’s dedication to recognising hard work and strengthening leadership within the corps.
The promoted officers — Murphy Ajayi, Kayode Daramola, and Kolawole Oluwadumiye — currently serve as Unit Commanders across the Ogun State Command.
In his remarks, Fasakin congratulated the newly decorated officers but reminded them of the increased expectations that accompany their new ranks.
“Promotion within the FRSC is not merely a reward; it is a call to greater responsibility,” he said, urging the officers to see the elevation as “payback time” through enhanced commitment and outstanding service to the Corps and the nation at large.
The event drew attendance from officers of the Ogun Sector Command, family members, and invited guests who came to celebrate the honourees.
Highlights of the ceremony included the formal decoration of the officers by the sector commander and invited dignitaries, as well as goodwill messages from colleagues who praised their dedication and service record.
The occasion ended with a vote of thanks by the most senior honouree, Ajayi, who pledged their collective resolve to further uphold the mandate and values of the FRSC.
