The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a suspect in connection with the killing of a youth leader, Ojo Abbey, popularly known as Obesere, in Isua Akoko, Ondo State. Obesere was allegedly abducted by gunmen suspected to be herdsmen while returning from Edo State on February 22, 2026.
The victim’s decomposing body was discovered in a forest in Igara, Edo State, sparking outrage in the community. The police say the suspect is currently in custody, assisting with ongoing investigations.
According to the police, the incident was reported at Isua Division, and a search party was mobilized to the scene. The victim’s vehicle, a Nissan Almera, was recovered and secured at the station.
