The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Ogun Joint Campus Council (JCC), on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, convened its historic Leadership and Academic Stability Summit at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ogun State, drawing student leaders, institutional managers, security personnel, and national and zonal NANS delegations. The summit, themed “The Effect of Student Leadership on Academic Stability and Campus Harmony,” focused on nurturing responsible, visionary, and disciplined student leaders to promote peaceful coexistence, academic growth, and institutional development.
Hosting the program, Comrade Adelola Hezekiah Babatunde, General Secretary of NANS Ogun JCC, expressed gratitude to Almighty God and acknowledged the host institution’s management for providing a platform for the student-centered, leadership-focused event. He described their support as a demonstration of commitment to academic excellence, discipline, and holistic student development.
Comrade Gabriel Abiola Francis (Solution), Chairman of NANS Ogun JCC, was commended for his purposeful leadership and transparency, with speakers highlighting his commitment to students’ welfare and his role in sustaining a vibrant, forward-looking council. Awards were presented to leaders with exceptional contributions, honouring their dedication to student welfare, campus harmony, and national development.
NANS Ogun JCC was recognized at the event as one of the most ideological, principled, and disciplined Joint Campus Committees in Nigeria. Stakeholders noted that the council has strengthened its reputation through constructive engagement, peaceful advocacy, and intellectual development while upholding integrity, accountability, and service to humanity.
Leaders, stakeholders, and comrades were appreciated for their unwavering support and commitment to truth, justice, and progress. Student leaders and union executives were particularly commended for prioritizing dialogue, peace, and development over conflict and division. Participants were encouraged to be attentive, interactive, and open-minded, taking advantage of the opportunity to learn from seasoned leaders, share ideas, and build networks.
Organizers expressed optimism that knowledge gained from the program would guide students’ conduct, strengthen leadership capacity, and positively influence academic communities. NANS Ogun JCC reaffirmed its commitment to promoting academic stability, campus harmony, and responsible leadership across all institutions in Ogun State, calling for a united and progressive students’ movement that contributes meaningfully to national development.
The summit with a closing charge from the host, Comrade Adelola Hezekiah Babatunde, who expressed appreciation to all participants and reaffirmed his hope for a fruitful and impactful gathering He added, “May this summit be memorable and God bless NANS, Ogun State, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
