The Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps has officially commenced an online recruitment exercise for Neighbourhood Safety Officers across all local government areas of the state, as part of a broader initiative to bolster security and safety in the region.
This announcement was made on the official website of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency, which published detailed information on the position, requirements, and application process, providing aspiring candidates with a clear roadmap.
The recruitment drive is specifically for Neighbourhood Safety Officer (Group B) positions and is open to applicants across all LGAs on a full-time basis, offering a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about community service and safety to make a meaningful impact.
According to the agency, the recruitment is a strategic move to enhance safety and security at the grassroots level, ensuring that communities are protected, secure, and conducive for residents to live and thrive.
The agency outlined the basic requirements for applicants, including a minimum of SSCE/WAEC qualification, an age range of 18 to 30 years, and a requirement for applicants to be physically fit and possess a clean criminal record, emphasizing the importance of integrity and capability.
The application process involves submitting an online application form accompanied by required documents, which will undergo a thorough review by the agency to assess eligibility and suitability.
Successful applicants will progress to the next phase of the process, which includes rigorous assessment and screening tests designed to evaluate their suitability, competence, and aptitude for the role.
The final stage of the process is onboarding, where successful applicants will complete necessary procedures, undergo orientation, and begin their career with the LNSA, marking the beginning of their journey in community policing and safety management.
The recruitment exercise follows earlier approval by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for the engagement of new officers into the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps, underscoring the government’s commitment to enhancing security infrastructure.
The General Manager of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency, Ifalade Oyekan, emphasized that the recruitment would significantly strengthen the agency’s operational capacity, improve response time to security concerns at the community level, and align with the state government’s overarching commitment to creating a safe and secure environment for all residents.
The agency has extended an invitation to eligible youths and residents to take advantage of this employment opportunity, urging them to apply through the official recruitment portal and contribute to building safer communities.
