The National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS) has commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for fulfilling his promise to reward outstanding graduates of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY). According to Aare Oluwafemi Ajayi (FM Castro), National President of NAOSS, the Governor’s swift action demonstrates responsive leadership and a commitment to honouring excellence.
In December 2025, NAOSS National presented demands to the Ogun State Government, including the fulfillment of the Governor’s pledge to reward outstanding MAPOLY graduates. Remarkably, within two months, the Governor acted decisively, awarding ₦2.5 million each to nine outstanding graduates, including those from as far back as 2016.
Aare Oluwafemi Ajayi praised the Governor’s action, stating, “This rare speed underscores a leader whose ears are open to the people and whose promises are sacred.” The NAOSS National President also commended the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, for his professional handling of the award presentation and advocacy for academic excellence.
The award presentation included a compassionate gesture to the family of the late Orisawayi Samuel Emmanuel, who passed away in December 2025 before receiving the reward. The family received the award, which will be used to support the education of younger relatives and immortalise his name.
Aare Oluwafemi Ajayi stated, “This gesture speaks of a government guided by empathy, not just policy.” He added that Ogun State students are encouraged, reassured, and proud of the Governor’s leadership.
The NAOSS National President praised the Governor’s commitment to honouring excellence, saying, “History will record this moment.” He also commended the Commissioner for Education for his visionary leadership.
The Governor’s pledge fulfillment has sent a powerful message that hard work remains the currency of success in Ogun State. The NAOSS National stands resolute in appreciation of the Governor’s prompt action and the Commissioner’s delivery.
The award presentation ceremony reflected the government’s dedication to human capital development and academic excellence. Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu’s firm stance on curbing examination malpractice while rewarding diligence has reinforced the importance of academic integrity.
