The Ogun State Government, through the Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA), has reassured members of the Aluminium Recyclers Association of a conducive and enabling environment to operate and expand their businesses across the state.
The reassurance was given by the General Manager of OGEPA, Hon. Kehinde Bello, during a meeting with members of the association at his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. He explained that the engagement was aimed at strengthening collaboration, addressing operational challenges and promoting unity within the recycling sector.
Hon. Bello подчеркed the importance of aluminium recycling to environmental sustainability, noting that it plays a critical role in reducing environmental pollution while also creating employment opportunities for residents of the state.
He stated that the agency was committed to fostering harmony among operators and ensuring a level playing field for all stakeholders in the sector.
The OGEPA boss, however, urged members of the association to strictly comply with established environmental standards, particularly in the areas of waste disposal and emission control, to ensure that recycling activities do not pose health risks to host communities.
He added that the agency’s doors would remain open to operators and relevant stakeholders in order to promote an environmentally friendly working environment.
Responding, the Chairman of the Aluminium Recyclers Association, Alhaji Kamoru Mudashiru, expressed appreciation to the agency’s management for providing the platform for dialogue. He noted that the engagement would help in collectively exploring ways to improve operations within the sector.
Alhaji Mudashiru pledged the association’s maximum cooperation with OGEPA in sustaining a cleaner, safer and healthier environment across Ogun State.
