The Accord party has cleared Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke for its governorship primary in Osun State, scheduled to hold today in Osogbo, the state capital. The screening committee, led by Elder Ibe Thankgod, National Organising Secretary of the party, announced that Governor Adeleke has fulfilled all the requisite requirements for nomination and participation in the primary.
Elder Thankgod stated that the committee has cleared Governor Adeleke as the sole aspirant for the party’s governorship ticket and concluded all required documentations with relevant bodies. This development paves the way for Governor Adeleke to contest the governorship election under the Accord party’s platform.
The committee chairman presented a certificate of clearance to Governor Adeleke, hailing him as a worthy gubernatorial aspirant of the party. This gesture underscores the party’s confidence in Governor Adeleke’s ability to lead the party to victory in the 2026 elections.
In a statement issued by Elder Ibe Thankgod, the Chairman of the Screening Council, the committee expressed satisfaction that Governor Adeleke has met all the necessary requirements to contest the governorship primary. The statement reads: “The screening committee of the Accord party has screened and cleared Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke for the governorship primary. The governor has fulfilled all the requisite requirements for nomination and participation in the primary.”
Governor Adeleke expressed appreciation to the screening committee and the entire party leadership, noting his preparedness to lead the party to victory in 2026. “I am ready for the primary and I am ready for the general elections. We are winning by God’s grace,” Governor Adeleke affirmed.
The screening committee members included Abdurahaman Muhammed, Abdulahi Sani Muhammed, and Mrs. Awogbade Rachael. The committee’s decision is expected to boost Governor Adeleke’s chances of winning the governorship election.
The Accord party’s governorship primary is expected to be a crucial step in the party’s quest to capture the Osun State governorship seat in 2026. With Governor Adeleke as the sole aspirant, the path is clear for him to take the party’s flag and challenge other parties in the state.
