Alhaji (Ambassador) Chief Tajudeen AbdulJeleel Owolabi, who was recently conferred with the title of Balogun Adeen of the entire Ile-Ise Awo and its Environs Muslim Community, has advised all who are honoured with chieftaincy titles or hold leadership positions to use such opportunities positively and responsibly.
Chief Owolabi gave this advice on Saturday, October 8, 2025, during the Turbaning Ceremony, held at the Ile-Ise Open Field, Kaara, along Idi-Ori Road, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The event took place under the leadership of Fadilat Sheikh Al-Imam Abdul Fatahi A. Salman, the Chief Imam of Ile-Ise Awo and its Environs Muslim Community.
“Anyone who has been honoured with a chieftaincy title should continue with the good deeds that earned them the recognition,” Chief Owolabi said. “People are watching, even when we think they are not.”
While speaking with newsmen, the new Balogun Adeen also advised other newly installed chiefs to remain steadfast in their service to humanity and to let their actions reflect the values that brought them honour. He expressed deep appreciation to the Chief Imam, his family, and friends for their support.
In his remarks, Alhaji Engr. Showami Sulaimon, who was installed as the Faharul Hulamohu of the same community, said the honour would inspire them to do even more for the development of Ile-Ise Awo and its environs.
“As they say, one good turn deserves another,” Engr. Sulaimon said. “This new title will motivate us to perform better than before. We have several good plans for the community, which we will begin to implement after today.”
A special guest at the ceremony, Alhaji Abdulrasak Adebamidele Oresanya, urged the new titleholders to remain accessible to the people whenever their guidance, financial assistance, or moral support is needed.
“Now that you have been installed, you must be good role models in the Muslim community,” Oresanya advised. “Avoid any scandal or wrongdoing, and always lead by example.”
The Guest Lecturer, Fadilat Sheikh Abdulafeez M. Jimoh Baab Salam, congratulated the new chiefs and the Chief Imam under whose leadership the event took place. He also called on the general public to always support such religious and community development efforts.
“Whenever we are called to support noble causes like this, we should not hesitate,” he said. “Serving God through good deeds brings blessings in this life and rewards in the hereafter.”
