A new socio-political movement, the Omoluabi Parapo Conservative Group, has been launched to revive Yoruba consciousness and restore the region’s active voice in Nigeria’s national discourse.
The group was formally introduced during a press conference addressed by its convener, Obabìnrin Aderonke Okeleye at iwe Iroyin press center, okelewo area of Abeokuta with the theme “Awakening Yoruba Interest in Nigeria’s National Discourse.”
Okeleye described the launch as a historic step toward rebuilding unity and restoring the values that once defined Yoruba civilization. She recalled that before colonialism, the Yoruba people had one of Africa’s most organized systems of governance, commerce, and education guided by integrity, intellect and discipline.
Speaking on the reason for the new movement, Okeleye explained that Omoluabi Parapo Conservative Group was created to rebuild the bridge between the people and their leaders and to continue the legacy of past Yoruba movements such as Egbe Omo Odùduwà and Afenifere.
She emphasized that the group’s mission is to make Yoruba land great again by promoting unity, accountability, youth empowerment and cultural revival.
According to her, Omoluabi Parapo believes in a fair and balanced Nigeria where all ethnic groups are respected and represented.
