As Patterson Memorial Baptist Grammar School, Abeokuta, celebrates its 30th anniversary, the Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Abosede Babalola, has reaffirmed the institution’s unwavering commitment to delivering quality and godly education.
Speaking at a press conference held at Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, on Sunday, October 5, 2025, Dr. Babalola announced that the 30th anniversary celebration will be a five-day event, running from Monday to Friday, filled with joy, thanksgiving, and reflection on the school’s remarkable journey.
She revealed that, as part of the celebration, 30 deserving students will be awarded scholarships, in appreciation of academic excellence and to encourage outstanding performance.
Dr. Babalola warmly invited the general public, alumni, parents, and well-wishers to join in the celebration of the school’s enduring legacy.
Founded on October 10, 1995, by the Ogun Baptist Conference, Patterson Memorial Baptist Grammar School stands today as one of Ogun State’s foremost faith-based institutions, nurturing students in both academics and character.
She recounted the school’s humble beginnings at Egunya Hills, Ago-Oba, before its relocation to its permanent site at Idi-Aba—opposite Baptist Girls’ College—in January 2019. Named in honor of Reverend I.N. Patterson, a missionary and former Principal of Baptist Boys’ High School, the institution continues to uphold a legacy of discipline, diligence, and excellence.
Highlighting the school’s steady growth, Dr. Babalola noted that the institution offers a broad curriculum spanning Science, Arts, Business, and Technical Studies, and received full approval from the Ogun State Ministry of Education in 1996.
She also commended the leadership of the school’s Proprietor and President of the Ogun State Baptist Conference, Revd. Dr. Oyewale Oyeniyi, for his visionary guidance, which has fostered remarkable academic and moral development.
Among the school’s numerous achievements are the Award of Excellence from the West African Quality Alliance in 2018 and several laurels won while representing Ogun State in academic and moral competitions.
Expressing gratitude to God for the journey so far, Dr. Babalola assured that Patterson Memorial Baptist Grammar School will continue to grow stronger—academically, spiritually, and morally.
She concluded by inviting everyone to join in celebrating 30 years of excellence, faith, and purposeful education.
