The 7th edition of the prestigious Southwest Legendary Awards (SLA) 2025 is scheduled to take place on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the JM Royal Haven Event Centre, GRA, Sagamu, Ogun State.
Themed “The King’s Edition,” this year’s ceremony is dedicated to celebrating individuals and organizations that have made exceptional contributions to society.
Among the distinguished honorees is Comrade Bunmi Adigun, Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Chapter, who will be recognized for his outstanding service.
Other notable awardees include Otunba (Dr) Adebola Akindele, Yeye Oba Bolaji Akinmulero, Hon. (Dr) Ola Oresanya, popular actor Adedimeji Lateef, music icon Alhaji Sefiu Alao, veteran actor Antar Laniyan, the Teniola Foundation, and many more outstanding personalities.
According to the organizers, DDMC Events, nominees were carefully selected through an open call process, rigorous background checks, and verification of their achievements.
They emphasized that the SLA has, over the years, maintained its reputation as a credible and prestigious symbol of excellence across the Southwest.
The event will also feature captivating performances, special tributes, networking opportunities, and award presentations.
Serving as Chairman of the Occasion will be Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development.
