Nigerian-born singer Makinde Damilola, popularly known as Hondread, continues to stand at the forefront of preserving and promoting Yoruba cultural heritage.
A spiritual storyteller and cultural visionary, Hondread has released a new track titled “Ore Tuntun” meaning “Brand New Goodness.” The song is a heartfelt praise to Ifa, blending Yoruba chants, ancestral wisdom, and contemporary rhythms to create a captivating Afro-Tradition sound.
In “Ore Tuntun,” Hondread sings of reassurance from Ifa, narrating how the oracle has told him not to worry, that blessings are on the way. He preaches his gospel, lives his truth, and listens attentively for divine direction:
“O ti so fun mi kin ye ma worry, blessing is coming aye ma gun keke. My gospel I am preaching, my truth I am living. Ifa speak, I am listening, ma wi, my next step tell me.” he sang.
The artist further emphasizes his obedience to Ifa, declaring that he has fulfilled the rules, carried out the errands of the oracle, and now seeks the reward of brand-new goodness. He chants:

“Ifa mi o je mi o mu, ti mo fi re le olu , sebi se re ni mo n je ki ri. Ifa mi o je mi o mu, ti mo fi ro ke ora ,sebi se re ni mo n je ki ri. Ore Tuntun ni o ba mi gbe, e ni o ba mi gbe e, ni o ba mi gbe.”
Released on July 1, 2025, Ore Tuntun has since been receiving massive acceptance across audiences both Yoruba and non-Yoruba alike because its sound resonates deeply as a blessing and uplifting offering.
