The Nigeria Police Force has achieved another milestone on the international stage as Commissioner of Police (CP) Olubode Ojajuni was elected into the INTERPOL Africa Committee.
The election, held during the 27th African Regional Conference in Cape Town, South Africa, secured for Nigeria the fifth seat on the Committee for a two-year tenure.
The INTERPOL Africa Committee plays a vital role in advising the African Regional Conference on executing its mandate, facilitating its sessions, and identifying strategic crime priorities across the continent.
It also focuses on strengthening cross-border police cooperation, advancing best practices, and implementing projects that enhance regional and continental security.
With CP Ojajuni’s election, Nigeria consolidates its growing influence in global law enforcement, particularly in combating transnational crime, terrorism, and other emerging threats.
His presence on the Committee positions Nigeria to play a key role in shaping regional and global policing strategies under the INTERPOL framework.
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, congratulated CP Ojajuni on the achievement, describing it as a testament to the Nigeria Police Force’s professionalism and commitment to international cooperation.
He further pledged the Force’s continued engagement with global partners to promote peace and security worldwide.
