The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council, has joined family, friends, and associates in celebrating the Executive Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Dr. Lanre Sodipo, as he marks his 50th birthday.
In a congratulatory message signed by the Council Chairman, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju, and Secretary, Comrade Bunmi Adigun, the union described Dr. Sodipo as an outstanding administrator and visionary leader whose style of governance has redefined local government administration in Ogun State.
Since assuming office, Dr. Sodipo has been commended for his dedication, transparency, and innovative approach to grassroots governance.
His administration is credited with delivering critical infrastructure, initiating people-focused programmes, and implementing reforms that have brought government closer to the people.
According to the NUJ, Abeokuta North has recorded notable improvements in education, healthcare, rural roads, and youth empowerment under his leadership, with policies designed to address the peculiar needs of residents.
The union also praised his emphasis on accountability and inclusiveness, noting that it has earned him admiration as a model for local government leadership beyond Ogun State.
“At 50, Dr. Sodipo stands tall as a leader whose legacy of service, humility, and impact has set a standard for others to follow. His golden jubilee is not just a personal milestone but a celebration of the enduring difference one man can make in shaping lives and transforming communities,” the NUJ stated.
The Council prayed for God’s continued wisdom, good health, and greater opportunities for Dr. Sodipo to serve humanity, describing him as “a shining light in grassroots leadership and a beacon of hope for good governance in Nigeria.”
