Three Nurses at the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta have broken a longstanding professional barrier within the institution with their recent hooding and decoration as PhD holders
The trio of Dr Mojisola Adelola Bankole, Dr Gbeminiyi Oloyede and Dr Adedamola Rashidat Odeyale, all senior members of the Department of Nursing Services at the Federal Medical Centre, Idi Aba, Abeokuta, were officially hooded today, with a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing at Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo.
Moments after the hooding, Dr Bankole, visibly emotional, reflected on her journey with a quote from the Bible
“For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God. Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.”(Job 22:26–27)
Dr Bankole, a seasoned ophthalmic nurse and widely respected professional is a woman of inestimable value and a leader who is highly reliable with high standard of integrity.
Her doctoral research centered on advancing patient education and preventive eye care, especially in the management of glaucoma, underscoring her commitment to improving healthcare outcomes through knowledge-driven practice.

On her part, Dr Oloyede, beaming with smiles encouraged her colleagues to not relent in pursuing their set goals
Dr Oloyede, a maternal and child health practitioner with more than 29years experience is a highly cerebral Nurse who colleagues describe as dependable and trustworthy.

Dr Adedamola Rashidat Odeyale in her remarks thanked her family and colleagues for their support through the programme.
She says pursuing a PhD in Nursing is strenuous and one can only pull through with a strong support system at home and at work.
