Police Launch Manhunt for Man Who Allegedly Killed Pregnant Fiancée and Daughter in Edo
The Edo State Police Command has launched a manhunt for a man, Wealth Nnamdi, who allegedly killed his pregnant fiancée, Osasu Isaac, and her 3-year-old daughter, Miracle, in Benin City.
According to the command, the tragic incident occurred on Idiangbona Street in Ovbiogoe Community on March 16.
The command stated that the incident followed a heated argument between the lovers. Neighbors, who were used to their frequent quarrels, said they did not suspect that the altercation would end in bloodshed.
A source in the community, who spoke on condition of anonymity, revealed that the pair had been together for over three years, with Nnamdi moving in with Osasu and her daughter from a previous relationship.
Traditional wedding for the intending couple had been slated for March 29, 2025, while holy matrimony in church was scheduled for April 6 before the incident.
The source described the situation as heartbreaking,” noting that Osasu was excited about the wedding and was already pregnant for Nnamdi.”
The source added,” that the argument between the couple stopped, but after two days, a foul smell started coming from their room, prompting the neighbors to call the police.”
Confirming the incident on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Edo State Command, Moses Yamu, said officers from the Ekiadolor Division forced the door open after neighbors reported a disturbance.
