Khadijat Omotayo, Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Constituency Affairs, has appealed to Nigerians to cease criticizing the President over the removal of fuel subsidy. Omotayo made this plea during a town hall meeting in Jos, Plateau State, attended by various stakeholders, including market women, youth groups, and government officials.
According to Omotayo, President Tinubu is committed to implementing initiatives that will improve the lives of all Nigerians. She emphasized that the resources generated from the removal of the fuel subsidy have been shared among all states, and the President has also increased the salaries of workers, with promises of more increments during his tenure.
Omotayo praised the President’s commitment to inclusivity, citing her own presence in Plateau State, a PDP stronghold, as evidence of his willingness to work with all Nigerians. She also commended Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State for promoting democracy and inclusivity.
The presidential aide urged Nigerians to work together to build a country that works for all, rather than attacking the President. She emphasized the importance of holding representatives accountable for their actions.
Omotayo highlighted the benefits of the President’s initiatives, including free loans for students, which are available to all regions without collateral. She encouraged Nigerians to take advantage of these opportunities and to support the President’s efforts to develop the country.
The Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, thanked the President for allowing his aide to organize the town hall meeting, which provided citizens with an opportunity to express their views. Mutfwang emphasized his administration’s commitment to empowering every segment of the state and promoting the welfare of all citizens.
Mutfwang acknowledged the President’s efforts to develop Plateau State, saying, “Mr. President is doing a lot for us in Plateau, but like Oliver Twist, we are only asking for more.”
