The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Lanre Ogunlowo PhD, has taken swift action to alleviate a severe traffic gridlock on the Lafarge dual carriageway in Ewekoro Local Government. The road is currently under construction, and CP Ogunlowo’s unscheduled visit to the area revealed that impatient road users driving against traffic had caused the congestion.
Upon arrival, CP Ogunlowo observed that articulated vehicles had obstructed the movement of smaller cars, exacerbating the situation and contributing to general road lawlessness. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the Commissioner personally coordinated traffic movement and appealed to motorists to exercise patience and adhere to proper lane discipline.
CP Ogunlowo emphasized that compliance with traffic regulations would ensure smoother vehicular movement and reduce travel time for all road users. To prevent similar disruptions in the future, the Commissioner directed the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ewekoro to deploy additional traffic personnel to the affected areas.
