In a significant breakthrough, the Ogun State Police Command has successfully rescued a missing girl from Ota, in the Ado-Odo/Ota local government area of the state. The rescue operation was spearheaded by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, led by Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo ¹.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, the girl was recovered in Ayetoro, Ogun State, and all suspects linked to the abduction have been arrested. The rescue was the result of swift action and intelligence-driven efforts by the Anti-Kidnapping team.
The police have assured the public that more details about the operation, the suspects, and the circumstances surrounding the girl’s abduction would be provided during a press briefing scheduled for tomorrow by CP Lanre Ogunlowo.
In a related development, it was reported that the family of the missing girl had earlier been asked to pay N40,000 by some policemen to facilitate the search for the girl ².
The police spokesperson urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement authorities.
