Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has commended Remoland for its significant progress in agriculture and industrialization. Speaking at the maiden edition of the Remo Day celebration, held at the Gateway International Stadium in Sagamu, Governor Abiodun praised Remoland’s achievements in agriculture, education, science, and technology.
The governor attributed Remoland’s success to the community’s united front, saying, “Over the past years, Remoland has made significant progress, from advancements in agriculture and industrialization to breakthroughs in education and technology.” He also highlighted Remoland’s strategic importance, being home to the Ogun State Gateway International Airport and the Gateway Agro-cargo Special Processing Zone.
Governor Abiodun expressed his optimism that the Remo Day celebration would become a major tourism activity, attracting visitors from around the world. He emphasized the celebration’s importance in fostering a sense of pride and identity among the people of Remoland.
The governor also announced that Community Development Associations with projects that promote growth and development would receive funding from the state government. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring that grassroots communities experience accelerated development.
In his remarks, Governor Abiodun acknowledged that his administration has worked diligently to enhance public service, improve infrastructure, and promote sustainable development. He assured that the promotion and sustenance of cultural and tourism potential in Remoland would be intensified for future generations.
The Chairman of the Remo Day Celebration, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbass, emphasized the importance of preserving cultural heritage and promoting national cohesion. He urged the people of Remoland to uphold their shared identity and communal spirit.
The Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, highlighted Nigeria’s rich cultural diversity, with over 250 ethnic groups, each with unique traditions. He emphasized the importance of preserving culture while embracing innovation and globalization.
The Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, commended Governor Abiodun for his developmental efforts in Remoland and urged the people to rededicate themselves to preserving their culture.
The Remo Day celebration featured displays by cultural and age groups, and was attended by prominent personalities, including members of the national and state legislatures, past governors, and traditional rulers.
