
In a heartwarming display of community service,the program sponsored by LCIF under district 404B3 NIGERIA in conjunction with Ewekoro Pacesetters Lions club, organized a community outreach program aimed at promoting eye health and providing vision correction to those in need. The event took place on December 17, 2024, at the DS Adegbenro Polytechnic campus in Itori, Ewekoro, Ogun State.

The program was a huge success, with no fewer than 200 residents benefiting from free eye tests and distribution of glasses. The initiative was sponsored by District 404B3, and the club’s president, Ogunnaike Abiodun NLCF, expressed his gratitude to the district governor, Dr. Ibrahim Jide Bello.
In his address to the press, President Ogunnaike made a passionate appeal to wealthy individuals in the society to cater to the needs of the less privileged. He emphasized the importance of remembering the poor and having their welfare at heart. Ogunnaike also encouraged wealthy individuals to partner with Lions Club International to make a positive impact in their communities.
The free eye test and distribution of glasses program was designed to showcase the impact of Lions Club International in Ewekoro Local Government. According to President Ogunnaike, the purpose of Lions Club International is to cater to the needs of the less privileged and the needy.

The program was well-received by the beneficiaries, who expressed their gratitude to the Lions Club International for their kindness. One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Olwatosin Joseph, praised the club for fulfilling their promise of providing free eye tests and glasses.
Another beneficiary, Mrs. Ahmed Simiat, also commended the Lions Club International for their generosity. She stated that the free eye test and glasses had made a significant difference in her life.
The Rector of DS Adegbenro Polytechnic, Dr. Goke Rauf, also benefited from the program and commended the efforts of the Lions Club International. He described the initiative as “wonderful” and praised the club for their commitment to serving the community.
