The Ogun State branch of the National Butchers Union of Nigeria has inaugurated Alhaji Ambali Akano Adetona, popularly known as Istijaba, as the National Vice President. The event took place on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Gateway Secondary School, Akin-Olugbade, Abeokuta, Ogun State. The inauguration ceremony was attended by numerous dignitaries and members of the union.
Alhaji Lamidi Oni, the state chairman of the union, expressed his happiness about the achievement, stating that it is a great honor for the union members in Ogun State and the state’s indigenes. He noted that the position was contested by other states, but the Ogun State candidate emerged victorious. This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the union members in Ogun State.
Alhaji Ambali Akano Adetona, the newly inaugurated National Vice President, expressed his gratitude to the union members and dignitaries who attended the event. The inauguration ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Ishola, former Ambassador to the United Kingdom. Ambassador Ishola congratulated Alhaji Ambali Akano Adetona on his inauguration as National Vice President. His Royal Majesty Oba Kolawole Aremu Sowemimo, the Olu of Owode, also attended the inauguration ceremony. He congratulated Alhaji Ambali Akano Adetona on his new role and advised him to continue working hard and making the union proud. He emphasized the importance of leadership and teamwork in achieving success.
Chief Dr. John Osamede Adun, the national president of the butcher union of Nigeria, also attended the inauguration ceremony. He congratulated Alhaji Ambali Akano Adetona on his inauguration as National Vice President. He noted that the newly inaugurated National Vice President will cover the states from Lagos to Kwara.
The national president stated that the election that led to the emergence of Alhaji Ambali Akano Adetona as National Vice President was a tough one. He noted that Alhaji Ambali Akano Adetona is a great ambassador to the union and has the capacity to perform beyond expectations.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by other dignitaries, including High Chief Alhaji Bakai Ajao Okedara, Babalaje of EgbaAgura, and Alhaji Abdulsemiu Omitogun, the South West public relations officer of the union. The event was a celebration of the achievement of Alhaji Ambali Akano Adetona and the union as a whole.
