My attention has been drawn to baseless claims being circulated by the All Progressives Congress, regarding my candidacy.

My instinctive reaction would have been to ignore this last-ditch desperate attempt by the drowning party.

But I am compelled to respond so as to prevent them from misleading the unsuspecting public and hoodwinking my teeming supporters, because lies when told repeatedly, take the toga of the truth.

Let me make it abundantly clear: I am fully committed to contesting in the upcoming local government elections and to delivering on my promise of transparent, inclusive, and people-focused leadership.

The APC, stared in the face by obvious defeat has in its usual manner, activated its lying machinery to spread false narratives and propaganda regarding my candidacy

I, Olalekan Alex Shoyinka, popularly known as Ayinla Egba will never trade my ambition and the support I have freely recieved for any form of inducement.

Let me remind the agents of mischief that I am a true-blooded Ijemo son who never backs down on any envisioned cause, even in the face of stiff adversity.

My decision to run for this office was borne out of my unwavering belief in the potential of our community and the need for leadership that prioritizes the welfare of the people over personal or partisan interests.

I remain focused on this mission and will not be distracted by unfounded speculations.

The Action Democratic Party is also aware of the clandestine attempts by the candidate of the ruling party to hire thugs to disrupt Saturday’s poll.

We’re also currently compiling incontrovertible video evidence of his public mutilation of naira notes as displayed on Thursday in Abeokuta for onward transmission to law enforcement agencies.

I hereby call on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC and the Department of State Services, DSS to carry out thorough investigation and institute proper legal action.

Again, I urge the well meaning people of Abeokuta South to come out on Saturday to vote for the Action Democratic Party.
