A tragic incident occurred in Sango-Ota, Ogun State, on Friday, resulting in the death of a woman, Yetunde Olayiwole, allegedly at the hands of her ex-husband, Muftau Adefalu. The incident happened around 8:00 pm.
According to reports, Adefalu, 37, and Olayiwole had a misunderstanding that escalated into a physical altercation. During the fight, Olayiwole slumped and was rushed to the hospital, where she was confirmed dead.
The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of Muftau Adefalu in connection with the incident. Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, disclosed that the suspect is currently in detention.
Odutola stated, “Yes, 37-year-old Muftau Adefalu and his ex-wife Yetunde Olayiwole had a misunderstanding which resulted in a fight. Olayiwole slumped during the fight and was confirmed dead at the hospital she was taken to.”
The police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Olayiwole’s death. The probe aims to unravel the full details of the incident and determine the extent of Adefalu’s involvement.
